Chuy's Hot to Trot 2014

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

This week I did awesome with my workouts. I managed to:
  • Workout during lunch at work 3 out of the 5 days
  • Ran a 5k on Saturday
  • Played disc golf, walked the dog, and played corn hole until my arms were sore
  • Went tubing and paddled around
I'm pretty happy with myself and I am definitely motivated again to go hard in my workouts.

But before we go any further, I know you are all dying to see my beautiful niece, Madisyn. I know I was extra happy to see her this weekend!

Madisyn intrigued by the camera

"really, do you wanna blind me with all that flash?"

So proud of her for holding her own bottle

I signed up for the Chuy's Hot to Trot 5k as a new starting point, Something to get me back in gear and to see where I'm at. My Mom and Dad picked me to take me. I was super excited that they came. Let me tell you, this race was not easy for me. I just started running again and have not really ran more than 2.5 miles in a long time. I wanted to stop and walk so bad, but I knew that I could push through. Plus, I had my Mom and Dad waiting for me at the finish.

My official time was 34:35 and I placed 8th for the F 20 - 24. Not bad! Is it my best? No. But am I proud? Yes! I'm very happy. Everyone has to start or restart somewhere.

Can you see me back there in the grey, trying to book it! ha ha

Super exhausted, but super proud!

I'm so glad I participated in this race. It was exactly what I needed in my life at the perfect moment. This race Saturday morning really set the tone for the rest of my weekend. I really thought about making sure I was eating good foods and consciously making an effort to move more.

Ya'll, I'm back!
